Quality Assurance

USDA has set federal and state recognized quality standards and policies for U.S. food and grain products.

USDA establishes quality assurance policies, procedures, and product descriptions applicable to the procurement of food.

USDA has official personnel to determine and certify quantities of grain lots as required by law for all domestic and exported grains.

To ensure product safety, USDA inspectors and graders must interpret and apply standards to containers.
